The Department of History, in collaboration with the Department of Geography, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar, organised a talk programme entitled “Museum Studies and Preservation of Local History” on 19th January, 2018. Mr Pankaj Protim Bordoloi, Deputy Director, President House Museum, India, had adorned the occasion as the resource person and he delivered a lecture addressing issues related with the significance of Museum in the educational institutions or in a locality for preserving indigenous history and culture. He expressed his views on the diverse elements of rich culture and heritage of North East India. According to him, a museum is the mirror of the society which can play a significant role in developing inquisitive mind among youth of the society. The talk programme had a respectable audience of 50 people.
