A One Day Workshop on Basics of Intellectual Property Rights was organized by the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) of Nanda Nath Saikia College on 07 May 2026 at the Lakshminath Bezbaruah Conference Hall of the college. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a basic understanding of intellectual property rights and their importance in academic, research, and innovation-related activities. Faculty members, students, and invited participants attended the programme with great enthusiasm. Ms. Ilika Zhimo, Principal Scientist at CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology, served as the resource person for the workshop. She delivered insightful sessions on various aspects of intellectual property rights, including copyright, patents, trademarks, and related legal awareness. Her interactive presentations highlighted the significance of protecting innovative ideas and research outcomes in today’s academic and industrial landscape. The workshop concluded successfully with active participation and engaging interaction among the attendees, making the programme both informative and enriching for all participants.
