The college, along with its teaching and non-teaching staff and students, observed World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June 2026 with due importance and enthusiasm. As part of the observance, a tree plantation programme was organized within the college campus with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and ecological responsibility. Teachers, non-teaching staff, and students actively participated in the programme by planting various saplings in different parts of the campus. The initiative aimed to foster environmental consciousness and emphasize the importance of maintaining a green, healthy, and sustainable environment. On the occasion, homage was also paid to Zubeen Garg in recognition of his continuous emphasis on nature, ecology, and environmental awareness through his artistic and public engagements. The participants fondly remembered his contributions and reflected upon his message of preserving the environment and maintaining harmony with nature. On this significant occasion, the college also inaugurated the “Green Soldiers” initiative, the brainchild of the Vice Principal, comprising students and teachers dedicated to the preservation of the college greenery, maintenance of a green campus, and spreading awareness against pollution. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of encouraging collective responsibility towards environmental protection and sustainable practices within the campus. The programme concluded successfully with active participation from all concerned and a renewed commitment towards environmental protection, conservation, and sustainable living.
