A one day lecture program on “AI based tools for literature search and systematic reviews” wasA one day lecture program on “AI based tools for literature search and systematic reviews” wassuccessfully organised by Chakreswar Saikia Central Library in association with Teachers’ Unit,Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar on 9th June, 2024 via online mode. Dr. Vinit Kumar,Assistant Professor, Department of Library and Information Science, Babasaheb BhimraoAmbedkar University (A Central University with NAAC A++ accreditation) was the invitedspeaker who specializes in Text and Data Mining, Data Visualization, Digital Library and BigData Analytics. Around 300 participants from different subjects and from different corners of thecountry have participated in the program. Most of the participants were faculty members,librarians, research scholars, students of UG and PG levels. The program started with awelcome address by Dr Manashi Bortamuly, Secretary, Teachers’ Unit and introduction of theresource person by the host Dr Jafrin Farha Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department ofZoology. The lecture was very insightful as the speaker demonstrated the use of AI tools inresearch in a real time mode. There was a discussion and a question-answer session at the endwhere the participants interacted directly with the speaker. Finally, the program ended with aformal vote of thanks by Dr Dhruba Jyoti Borgohain, Librarian, Nanda Nath Saikia College,Titabar, Jorhat. The entire session of around 1.5 hours was recorded for future usage (Clickhere to access). The certificates of the participants were distributed via whatsapp groupdeveloped for the purpose in PDF format, prepared based on attendance and submission offeedback.

Sampriti Women’s Cell, Nanda Nath Saikia College Teachers’ Unit, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabor celebrates International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, 2024. Going with the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”, the convenor of the cell, Mitali Chetia arranged for the felicitation of four local women entrepreneurs – Ranu Kachari, Rita Gogoi Kachari, Krishna Gogoi Saikia and Bonti Bora successful in different avenues like handloom, sericulture, nursery and snacks making. They shared their challenging journey in reaching their respective goals. The meeting was presided over by the president of the cell, Dr. Snigdha Rani Rabha. On the dias were Dr. Litool Boruah, Principal of the college who encouraged women’s participation in all affairs of the society in his speech, Dr. Malakshmi Dutta, Vice Principal of the college who highlighted about the birth and motive of Sampriti Women’s Cell and Dr. Konoki Konwar, faculty of the college who spoke at length on the theme of the occasion. Dance and songs were presented which enlightened the mood of the day and the day finally wound up with a delightful lunch.
