The Department of Botany, in collaboration with the Biotech Hub of N. N. Saikia College, successfully organized a two-day field-level awareness programme in association with local village communities. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable environmental and agricultural practices. During the programme, participants were sensitized on key topics such as agronomic practices, plastic pollution, wastewater treatment, bioremediation, and plant protection. The sessions were designed to create awareness among villagers about environmentally responsible approaches and practical methods that can be effectively applied in their day-to-day agricultural activities. The programme featured interactive discussions and field demonstrations, which played a vital role in bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and community practices. These activities encouraged participants to adopt eco-friendly techniques for sustainable farming and environmental conservation. The initiative reflects the college’s strong commitment to community outreach, environmental awareness, and the dissemination of knowledge for sustainable development.
