Dr. Manashi Bortamuly expertises in the field of Animal Ecology and Wildlife Biology. She joined the Department of Zoology in the year 2012. 

Presently, she is the Head of the Department and is devoted towards teaching and providing a healthy academic environment to the students of Zoology Department.

Her research interests area are broad. Her primary area of interest is Insect ecology and biology, especially involved in the early stages of Lepidoptera (butterflies as well as moths), which are economically important of this region. Her other areas of interest are diversity, status, and distribution pattern of invertebrate fauna like Lepidoptera and Arachnida; and effect of environmental factors on butterfly’s population.
