            To Promote Historical Awareness among the learners through understanding the past by the medium of teaching-learning, research, seminars, extension activities etc. This will indeed create critical understand of the past in the minds of the people which help them to live in modern and moulding the future.

• The Department of History will always transform itself to the needs and requirements of the students of the generation.
• The focus of the Department of History is rather empirical than theoretical thereby encouraging the students to participate in different regional, state and even at national level events to broaden their horizon of knowledge.
• The Department aims in creating regular platforms for the academicians in the form of symposia, seminars or conferences to broaden the horizon of knowledge about the region.
