As a part of the Skill Enhancement Course curriculum, 30 students of BA/BSc. 2nd Semester along with Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, Asst. Professor of Zoology Department visited the CMERTI, Lahdoigarh on 21/03/2025.

On our arrival, Dr. Manjunath R.N. warmly welcomed us and presented an introductory video of the Institute and spoke about their Research works and goals. He also talk about some technologies of rearing silkworm and shared some ideas to become a successful entrepreneur.  We were taken to different divisions of the sericulture- Post cocoon technology lab, Insect Repository where we got to learn about Muga reeling machines, Eri spinning machines, different varieties of silk, diseases of silkworm, life cycle of lepidopteran Insects and different types of non-lepidopteran pest.  We also visited farms and saw different types of silkworm host plants.  Dr. Mahesh D.S. clearly explained us about the Chawki technique for successful muga rearing.  At the end of the visit, we reached our college at 5:30 pm. On the whole, it was a very insightful and memorable trip.
