World Wildlife Day Celebration 2025

The Department of Zoology and Zoological Society of N. N. Saikia College (unit of ZSA) celebrated the World Wildlife Week in the Department premises. Approximately 36 students participated in the celebration. Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, Assistant Professor and President Zoological Society, N. N. Saikia College welcomed everyone and spoke about the importance of wildlife in the environment. She then requested the students to present their talk. Partha Hazarika, Biku Hatibaruah and Plabita Bhagowati, students of 4th Semester Major jointly prepared their presentation which was delivered by Partha. He spoke on the threatened species of wildlife in India and also the important aspects to learn from wild animals. Another presentation was given by Sneha Handique and Kabita Das of 6th Semester who briefly showcased their field trip to Kaziranga wherein many wild animals were sighted. The ending note was delivered by Mitali Chetia, HoD.
Celebration of National Science Day 28.02.2025 at Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar
National Science Day was celebrated on 28.02.2025 in the college premises of Nanda Nath Saikia College including the students of all the Science Department of the College. The Programme started at 12 noon and the resource person was Dr. Prasanta Jyoti Gautam, Associate Professor and HoD, Department of Chemistry, Kaziranga University. The programme was celebrated in association with the Assam Science Society NN Saikia College Branch, Department of Zoology in collaboration with the Zoological Society of N. N. Saikia College.
The entire programme was hosted by Dr. Kashmiri Baruah, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics. Students and faculty members of all the science disciplines of the college participated in the programme. The event was graced by the Principal of the College, Dr. Litool Baruah. During the Programme, students of Departments of Chemistry, Zoology and Physics talked on the importance of National Science Day and the theme for 2025. The resource person was introduced by Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology and then students listened to the enlightening talk of the resource person who spoke on various aspects of innovation, technology, and Vikkasit Bharat. He also emphasized that knowledge gap must be bridged in order to empower the youths of our country. After a series of interactions, the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Monisha Chetia, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics.
The programme ended at about 2 pm with light refreshment to all.
