Librarian’s day at Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar was observed in a two day long agenda. The day 1 started with the inauguration of the Central Library Website by Dr. Suvangshu Dutta, Principal of NN Saikia College on 8th August, 2025 at 12 PM. Dr. Dhurba Jyoti Borgohain, Librarian of NN Saikia College shared his views on the importance of a website in today’s ICT driven world. The program had an active participation of faculty members and students. The Principal of the college shared his views on the need of a library website that promotes the access to reading materials to the students and faculty members anytime, anywhere with internet infrastructure. The program ended with a high tea. Day 2 i.e. 9th August, 2025, the celebration of the birth anniversary of Prof. SR Ranganathan was organized in presence of faculty and students. Dr. Rajanish Saikia, Academic Vice-Principal of the Science stream and Dr. Mrinali Kagyung, Associate Professor, Dept. of Assamese initiated the agenda of the program with lighting a lamp in front of the photo of Prof. SR Ranganathan. Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Borgohain, Librarian of the college delivered a short speech on the biography of Prof. SR Ranganathan.Moreover, Dr. Pranabananda Bhattacharyya, Dept. of Botany inaugurated and donated his edited book to the Central Library of the college. In the evening, a talk program was organized in the online mode where Dr. Deepa Baurah, Librarian (Associate) from Joya Gogoi College, Khumtai delivered a valuable speech on “Read your way in the digital environment”. Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain, Dept. of Zoology hosted the event. The program started with a welcome address by the Principal Dr. Suvangshu Dutta and ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Borgohain, Librarian of the college. The program ended with active participation of the faculty and students, where a number of students interacted with the invitee of the talk program.
