A memorial lecture programme in honour of Chakreshwar Saikia, the founder Principal of Nanda Nath Saikia College, was successfully organised on 7th February 2026 under the initiative of Titabor Sahitya Sabha. The programme was held on the college premises and began at 12:00 noon. The programme was attended by teachers, students, members of Titabor Sahitya Sabha, and several distinguished guests. The event aimed to commemorate the life and contributions of Chakreshwar Saikia and to promote literary and intellectual discourse among the academic community. The memorial lecture highlighted the visionary role played by Chakreshwar Saikia in the establishment and development of Nanda Nath Saikia College. Renowned Assamese scholar, poet, and translator Dr. Diganta Biswa Sarma was invited as the speaker. The speaker elaborated on his dedication to education, literature, and social upliftment, inspiring the audience with his ideals and lifelong commitment to learning.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, guests, organisers, and participants for their active involvement and cooperation. The event was meaningful and successful, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
