On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Department of Assamese organized a commemorative programme. The event featured a meaningful address by Dr. Snigdharani Rabha, Senior Faculty Member of the Department of Assamese, who elaborated on the significance and relevance of Mother Language Day. In observance of the day, an essay competition was also conducted among the students of the Department of Assamese. The topic of the competition was “The Role of Mother Language in Modern Education.” A total of ten students were selected and awarded certificates of merit as a mark of recognition for their outstanding performance. The programme concluded on a note of appreciation for linguistic diversity and the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages.
