A lecture was organized on the occasion of International Day of Women and Girls in Science as part of an academic lecture series (Lecture 03). The programme was conducted on 21st February 2026 at 12:01 PM at the Lakshminath Bezbarua Conference Hall. The invited speaker for the session was Dr. Rekha Rani Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, The Assam Kaziranga University. She delivered a lecture on the topic “Clean & Affordable Energy.” In her address, Dr. Dutta discussed the importance of sustainable and affordable energy solutions in the present global context. The lecture highlighted scientific advancements, environmental considerations, and the role of research and innovation in promoting clean energy practices. The session emphasized the relevance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing energy challenges. The programme was organized by the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry, N. N. Saikia College, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, D.C.B. Girls' College, under an existing MOU collaboration. The event was conducted in a hybrid mode, with provision for online participation through a shared meeting link. Faculty members, students, and invited participants attended the lecture. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, allowing attendees to engage with the speaker on key aspects of clean and affordable energy. The programme was successfully conducted and contributed meaningfully to the observance of the day, promoting awareness and academic engagement in the field of science and sustainability.
