The Department of Economics, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar has organised a National Webinar on “Dynamics of Indian Economy in the context of COVID 19 and Changing Indo - China Relationship” which was held on 16th July, 2020. Dr. Litool Baruah, Principal, Nanda Nath Saikia College inaugrated the webinar and gave the welcome speech. Dr. Gayatri Goswami, Professor, Department of Economics, Gauhati University and Dr. Dukhabandhu Sahoo, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities, Social Science and Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar had joined this webinar as Resource persons. Dr. Gayatri Goswami deliberated on how the Indian Economy has been affected due to COVID -19. The issues like reverse migration and its adverse effect on agriculture in particular and Assam Economy in general were discussed. Dr. D. Sahoo reflected on how the Indo China crisis would affect the manufacturing sector as well as the Indian Economy. He also spoke about the affect of COVID -19 across regions as well as the problem and prospect of the crisis on Indian Economy. More than 120 participants participated in this webinar and submitted positive feedback.

A National webinar was organized by the Department of Geography, Nanda Nath Saikia College on 07 July 2020, on the topic “Positive Mental Health for the Career Ahead”. Mr. Dipankar Bhattacharjya, Deputy Director, Training and Placement Division was invited as the resource person to address the participants. Honorable Principal of the college, Dr. Litool Baruah inaugurated the webinar and Mr. Jayanta Kumar Sarmah, the HoD of the Department of Geography welcomed the participants as well as the Resource Person. The webinar was conducted in Google Meet platform. As the target group of the participants was students, the speech of the resource person helped them to relieve their mental stress during the Covid-19 situations. About 240 participants across the country participated in this webinar and interacted with the Resource Person. Dr. Jonali Saikia Borkakoty, Associate Professor of the department offered vote of thanks to all the participants, college authority, the Resource Person and to the entire Nanda Nath Saikia College family for their valuable suggestions and cooperation.
