As we all know Assam is famous for its tea. And Titabar sub division is situated in the upper Assam region, which is one of the tea producing area in the state. There are several large and small tea gardens in this area and a large number of small tea growers are involved with this industry. Therefore to provide the latest information regarding organic tea cultivation, tea marketing and management, Tea Board of India, Jorhat Regional Office in association with IQAC, Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar organized a day long Training Programme for the small tea growers of Titabar locality on 19th February 2021 at Nanda Nath Saikia College, Titabar. Kamal Mazumdar,The Deputy Director, Tea Board India, Jorhat Regional Office and Dr. Gautam Kumar Saikia, Professor, Dept. of Tea Husbandry, Assam Agriculture University were the resource persons of the programme. Prof. Gautam Kumar Saikia in his deliberation, talked about the various aspects of organic tea production and tea cultivation methods for better yielding. On the other hand, resource person Kamal Mazumdar in his interaction with the participants talked about the various aspects relating to tea marketing. Total 99 participants, including 25 students of Assam Agriculture University, Dept. of Tea Husbandry, more than 30 small tea growers and a good number of interested students of our own institution were actively participated in the programme.At the end of this programme the coordinator of IQAC Mr. J.P. Oza extended the vote of thanks to all the participants, the resource persons and the faculty members of our institution for making the entire event a grand success.
