Nanda Nath Saikia College successfully inaugurated three Skill Development and Vocational Training Programmes—Soft Toy Making, Helper Electrician Training, and Jacquard Handloom Weaving—on 23 December 2025 at the college campus. The Soft Toy Making and Helper Electrician Training programmes are being conducted by Jan Shikshan Sansthan under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The Jacquard Handloom Weaving programme is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The inaugural event featured introductory sessions on the respective courses, emphasizing creativity, technical competence, and employability. Dignitaries from the college and the collaborating organisations addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of skill development, creativity, and entrepreneurship in alignment with the objectives of NEP 2020. The trainers also provided brief demonstrations and explained the relevance of acquiring practical skills for future employment and self-reliance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support and cooperation of all contributors and stakeholders. These training programmes are organized as initiatives under the MoU between Nanda Nath Saikia College and Raktosanjeevani, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to vocational education and community-oriented skill development.
