Nanda Nath Saikia College has recently been assessed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The premier institute of Titabar has been accredited with A+ Grade in its 3rd Cycle of Accreditation by the government organization. Representing the Council, Dr. Shashi Kumar Dhiman, Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Dr. Asima Sahu, Professor, Ravenshaw University, and Dr. Bashir Ahmed Dar, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Shopian visited the college on 25th and 26th April, 2023. Day 1 of the visit started with a warm welcome and hearty reception to the NAAC Peer Team by the Principal, the teachers, students and non-teaching staff of the college. Formal interaction began with the Principal’s Presentation in his room after which the team members visited the different departments of the college and also attended departmental presentations. Later on, the team gave visits to the Computer Lab, offices of NCC and NSS, Library, Institutional Bio-tech Hub, Administrative Office, Girls’ and Boys’ Common rooms, College Canteen etc. They also had interactions with Teachers, Students, Parents and Alumni of the college. In the evening of Day 1, the Peer team witnessed a magnificent cultural program presented by the students of the college. On Day 2, the Peer team visited the various physical facilities of the college such as the Vermicompost Plant, sports facilities, solar plant, botanical garden, fishery, Girls’ Hostel, Day Care centre, offices of Career Counselling Cell and Women’s Cell, drinking water facilities, ICT classrooms etc. Towards the end of the second day visit, the NAAC Peer Team finalized the Assessment Report after discussion with the Principal which was followed by an Exit Meeting where the Chairman of the team Dr. Shaishi Kumar Dhiman shared his views and experiences of the two day visit. The Exit Meeting was concluded with handing over the Report to the Principal of the college by the Peer Team.

On the 8th of March, 2023, International Women’s Day was celebrated by ‘Sampriti Women’s Cell, Nanda Nath Saikia College Teachers’ Unit’ at Mejenga Cha Bagicha venue. The event was presided by Dr. Snigdha Rani Rabha, President of the Sampriti Women’s Cell. Other dignitaries on the dias were Dr. Joyprakash Oza, President of Nanda Nath Saikia College Teachers’ unit, Dr. Malakshmi Dutta, Vice Principal of the College, special guest of honour, Dr. Moonty Boruah, Senior Scientist from Assam Agricultural University, three women senior citizens of the Bagicha, honourable teachers from Mejenga Cha Bagicha, Mr. Pradip Kurmi and Mr. Kamal Gowala. As a part of the celebration, workshop on organic soap preparation was conducted in which Dr. Moonty Boruah beautifully briefed on the protocol practically and highlighted on the different avenues that get opened up if chosen to be taken up professionally. Women participants enthusiastically participated in the walking and musical chair competitions held on the day. There was a Jeng Bihu, modern dance and a group song as a part of the cultural program. The day also saw the inauguration of Sampriti Women’s Cell wall magazine by the Vice principal of the college which projected on the theme “DigitalALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” with basic input designs by Mrs. Himakshi Borah and her team. The day ended gracefully with a vote of thanks finally proposed by the Secretary of Sampriti Women’s Cell, Mitali Chetia.
