Report:
A get together cum farewell programme was organised for the the 6th Semester students of the Department of Zoology on 03.05.2023. The final year students were bid farewell by the 4th and 2nd Semester Students of the Department.
The programme started at about 11 am in Lab 1 room of the Department. The HOD Dr. Manashi Bortamuly formally welcomed all the students to the programme. About 85 people were present in the celebration. Former student Shri Neelkamal, who helped in wall painting of the Department, was also present on the day.
Unique creation, a handwritten magazine named 'Pakhi' was also inaugurated by the Vice Principal, Dr. Malakhsmi Dutta. The 9th issue of Pakhi (2022 - 23) has been created by the final Semester Students and this year's editors were Miss Gargi Bordoloi and Miss Parishmita Kakoty.
Vice Principal, Dr. Malakhsmi Dutta enlightened the students with good wishes and good thoughts and wished them best of luck for their future. Retired Professor Dr. Anjumoni Saikia also graced the programme and wishes good luck to all the students. Dr. Anjumoni Saikia also gifted her latest Book 'Pakhi e Ringiai' to the Department, for which she has been awarded the Karuna Dutta Smriti Award in 2023. All other faculty members also spoke on the occassion. The programme was enjoyed by everyone, especially songs, dance and fun games were conducted among the outgoing students.
Everyone had a hearty meal on the day. The Programme ended at 2 pm, with vote of thanks to the Chair.

Gifting of Pakhi e Ringiai Book by Dr. Anjumoni Saikia (Retd.)
An Online Parents-Teachers Meet was organised by the Department of Zoology on 16.04.2023 at 6:30 PM. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, Head of the Department. At the onset, the HoD addressed all the members present and wished them on the auspicious occassion of Rongali Bihu. She then introduced the other faculty members of the Department and requested all faculty members to introduce themselves. After that, the HoD presented the details of pass percentage of the students of every semester and insisted that the parents should look after their ward and ensure that they perform well in their studies. She then requested Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain to give a brief talk on the performance of the 4th Semester students. Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain stated that the students need to be performing well in order that they do not feel the pressure later in the other semesters.
Then Mitali Chetia expressed the importance of CBCS System and emphasized that the students have the freedom to choose their subject of study. After that, the HoD requested all parents to come during the NAAC Team Visit and insisted their full co-operation during that time. Some of the parents also spoke during the meeting. They assured their full co-operation during the NAAC Team visit.
Dr. Samim Dullah also spoke on the students achievements especially the 2nd Semester students.
After these discussions, the meeting ended with thanks to the chair.
