Celebration of World Wildlife Day 2023

Place: Lab 1 of Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology, N. N. Saikia College celebrated the World Wildlife Day on 3^rd March, 2023 inside the Department Premises. The programme started at 2 PM, after the completion of the regular semester classes, in the Lab 1 of Zoology Department in presence of all the students and faculty members of the Department. About 42 students were present in the programme. The programme was inaugurated and carried forward by the HoD, Dr. Manashi Bortamuly. She gave a brief presentation on the different wildlife species that have been encountered during the various field trips conducted by the Department. The audio-visual talk on wildlife created a feeling of zest and zeal among the students.

After the presentation, a group photo was captured. Students from 2^nd Semester and 6^th Semester and few students from 4^th Semester were present. The programme ended with a happy note to all the students.

The Department of Zoology, N. N. Saikia College celebrated the National Science Day on 28th February, 2023 inside the Department Premises. The programme was conducted in the Lab 1 of Zoology Department in presence of all the students and faculty members of the Department. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, HoD who also emphasized on the importnace of the National Science Day. Dr. Jafrin Farha Hussain presented an audio-visual talk on popular science topic. She elaborated on the dangerous impacts on earth systems arising due to climate change, with special focus on hill stream fish assemblage. A quiz competition was also organised among the students of the Department where questions on science was asked. The quzmasters were by Dr Samim Dullah and Priyanka Saikia, faculties of the Department. At last prizes were distributed to the First winner team NAMDAPHA, 2nd Winner team KAZIRANGA and 3rd Winner team MANAS by Dr. Manashi Bortamuly, the HoD. The programme ended with a happy note to all the students.
